Why Choose Osteopathy

Orthodox medicine tries to cure the disease, but does not always seek the source or root of the problem. Osteopathic medicine realises that the disease is a direct or indirect result of a 'problem' therefore this 'problem' should be addressed in order for disease to be cured and to stop it from reoccurring. We believe that 'the patient has the disease, not that the disease has the patient'. Each patient is treated as an individual, and treatment is carried out according to the patient's individual needs.

A large part of osteopathy is helping people adapt to a physical deformity or trauma, or to help people overcome a poor body image as a result of their problem. Osteopathy therefore helps people cope with their daily life within the context of their disease, by looking at how the individual relates to his environment, how the disease affects them, and how we can improve on this. A thorough assessment of the individual is carried out, and a tailor-made treatment plan is then implemented with the aim of improving the person's ability to adapt to the daily stresses we put our bodies through.
